The Healing Place hosts ‘The Trudge’ 5k to celebrate anniversary

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Healing Place of New Hanover County held their inaugural 5k run on Saturday. 

The organization held their 5k named “The Trudge” to celebrate their first year in operation. Following the race attendees were treated to refreshments and awarded metals for their participation. 

Executive Director Brian Mingia said more than 200 people ran in the race, and that it rounds off a great first year serving the community. 

“It’s really to celebrate the first year of operation that we’ve been in town,” Mingia said. “We’ve been able to help over two thousand unique individuals since we’ve been open.” 

Mingia said that he is beyond pleased with the inaugural run’s turnout and is excited to expand the event in years to come.
