The pumpkin patch at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church is open for the season
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It may not feel like fall, but it’s that time of year again. The pumpkin patch at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church is open for the season.
The money made helps fund the church’s youth ministry and different mission projects.
The patch is run by members of the church and they say they unloaded more than two thousand pumpkins.
“We are glad to have pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. The first truck came in today. We were way too busy in the last couple weeks, helping people get resituated after so much devastation,” said Pastor McClure.
The pastor says the patch was supposed to open last weekend, but the opening was delayed because of Hurricane Florence.
McClure says the pumpkin patch has been a tradition for twenty eight years.
She hopes to see lots of families come out and forget about hurricane recovery.
