Third suspect arrested in Brunswick County home invasion and kidnapping

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The final suspect wanted for a home invasion on Old Ferry Road in Supply is now behind bars.

Miguel Angel Rivera-Cortes was arrested this morning.

Detectives say on January 22, the men broke into a home on Old Ferry Road and assaulted one of the victim with a gun.

Two weeks later, deputies arrested Jonathan Velez and Joshua Albarran for breaking and entering, felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and other charges.

Rivera-Cortes is charged with first degree burglary, probation violation and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $2,010,000 bond.
