Thousands pack downtown Wilmington for Orange Street Artfest

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It was no rain and all sunshine over downtown Wilmington for the 22nd annual Orange Street Artfest.

More than 80 artists filled Orange and 2nd streets including inside the Hannah Block Historic USO.

The festival started back in 1995 to promote the Community Arts Center, downtown Wilmington, and visual arts.

Thalian Association Community Theater Executive Director Susan Habas says there is something for everyone to check out including arts, crafts, and food vendors.

“I just want people to see how beautiful downtown Wilmington is and the wonderful arts and craftsmen that we have here,” Habas said. “This is a very quaint event.  It’s not very commercial. It really highlights some of the best things about our community.”

The festival runs until 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
