Thousands without power after snow moves through area

WILMINGTON, NC  (WWAY) — Power outages were reported across parts of southeastern North Carolina following snowfall from a winter storm.

Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation reported more than 2,100 customers without power as of early Sunday morning.

Duke Energy reported more than 800 outages across its service area.

Four County Electric Membership Corporation reported only one outage.

Residents are encouraged to use caution, avoid downed power lines and report outages directly to their electric provider.
