Three arrested in child abuse case in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people who allegedly abused a one-year-old child severely.
According to the arrest warrant, Andrew Siriani, 28, was babysitting the one-year-old at the time.
Siriani was charged with:
- Assault by strangulation
- Intentional child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury
- Intentional child abuse inflicting serious physical injury (5 counts)
Jemmie Buchanan, 21, was also charged with 6 counts of negligent child abuse inflicting serious physical injury. Kimberly Buchanan, 54, was charged with negligent child abuse inflicting serious physical injury.
Brunswick County Schools confirms Kimberly Buchanan was a school bus driver for the district who has been placed on suspension.
The school district will continue to work closely with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office while they conduct their investigation, which remains ongoing.
