WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Three people, including a juvenile, were arrested Wednesday after Wilmington Police responded to a report of an armed confrontation and later discovered drugs and weapons inside a local apartment.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers were called around 11:20 a.m. to the 4000 block of Wilshire Boulevard after receiving a report that two people were pointing guns at another person.

When officers arrived, they located the apartment the suspects had entered. Police say the suspects briefly opened the door before quickly closing it, prompting officers to surround the building.

While on scene, one of the occupants allegedly threw a bag of drugs out of a window. Investigators obtained a search warrant, and due to the potential presence of firearms and the suspects barricading themselves inside, the Cape Fear Regional Special Teams SWAT unit was called in.

The occupants eventually came out of the apartment, and officers executed the search warrant. Inside, police say they found more than 4.5 pounds of marijuana, drug manufacturing materials, and firearms.

WPD identified one of the suspects as Quavon Hooper, 22. He is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver (PWIMSD) Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Manufacture of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Assault by Pointing a Gun, and Resist/Delay/Obstruct, among other charges. He is being held without bond.

Also arrested was Heaven Richmond, 19, who faces charges including PWIMSD Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Manufacture of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Resist/Delay/Obstruct. Richmond is also being held without bond.

A juvenile was also taken into custody and is facing charges in connection with the investigation.
