Three people arrested after traffic stop for stolen truck reveals several firearms

TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) — Three people were recently arrested in Columbus County following a traffic stop.
Columbus County Sheriff’s Office deputies were out looking for a stolen 2005 Dodge Dakota on February 18th. The South Carolina registered truck was last seen heading towards Green Acres from Morgan Road in South Carolina.
Deputies say they observed a vehicle traveling on Hickman Road matching the truck description around 12:30 a.m.
After being stopped by deputies, two occupants opened the doors and ran from the front seats, with three people leaving from the rear seats.
Deputies eventually caught up to them all and placed them in custody.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of five firearms, two which deputies say were previously reported as stolen. All the firearms were loaded.
Davon Omarion Long, 18, was charged with two counts of felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm and misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer.
He received a $7,500.00 secured bond.
JaQuavious Bellamy, 19, was charged with misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer.
He received a $1,000.00 secured bond.
Rajon Nyjeir Reaves, 20, was charged with misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer.
He received a $1,000.00 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
