Three people arrested on drug charges following traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Three people were recently arrested following a traffic stop in Wilmington.

Task Force units say they observed a vehicle with illegal window tint in the 800 block of Emory Street on Thursday just before 5:00 p.m.

A further search of the vehicle during the traffic stop revealed narcotics, police say. They also say one person was in possession of a firearm.

27-year-old Jubrail Vaught was charged with CCW and Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He is being held without bond at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

34-year-old Maurice Whitfield was charged with Possession Heroin, Possession Schedule II Controlled Substance, and several traffic violations. He is also being held without bond.

21-year-old Amiracle Teachey was charged with PWISD Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was given a $10,000 secure bond.
