Topsail, Oak Island land on list of fastest-growing vacation destinations

NORTH CAROLINA (WWAY) — Two area beach towns make a national list naming some of the top fastest-growing vacation rental destinations in the country.

According to TripAdvisor’s website, the travel company set out to find the top 30 rising vacation rental destinations in 2015. The site says the list comes from analyzing travel behavior over the last year, then identifying which US regions had strong increases in vacation rental property.

Both Brunswick County’s Oak Island and Pender County’s Topsail Island ended up on the list, among other North Carolina beaches and mountains.

The list quotes Oak Island as being an up-and-coming family gem because of its friendly parks, fields and miles of sandy beaches. TripAdvisor says Topsail Island is often known for its southern-facing geography, giving islanders and visitors amazing sunrises and sunsets visible from your window.
