Topsail softball team just one win away from spot in state finals

WAYNE COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Topsail softball team fell behind early on against C.B. Aycock on Tuesday night in the first game of a best of three series for the 3-A east softball championship, but the Pirates managed to beat C.B. Aycock 9-7.  Game two of the series is set for Hampstead on Wednesday at 6pm.

In soccer the Whiteville girls came up short in the 1-A east finals. Franklin Academy beat Whiteville 6-0.
