Town of Leland displays its mobility plans
"As we see new residents come to town, we want to make sure we plan to accommodate the growth we anticipate to see in the region."
BRUNSWICK COUNTY (WWAY)–The Town of Leland held an event this afternoon to give Leland residents a look at their mobility plan and a chance to provide feedback to the town.
Displays of the town’s vision surrounded a room in Leland Town Hall, including an interactive map.
Ben Andrea is the town of Leland’s Planning and Inspector Director. He says it’s important to update the town to keep up with its growing population.
“Leland has been growing tremendously over the past 20 years. It’s a great place to live. Southeastern North Carolina is a great place to live. So, a lot of people are choosing to stay here, and a lot of people are choosing to move here. So, as we see new residents come to town, we want to make sure we plan to accommodate the growth we anticipate to see in the region,” Andrea explained.
Andrea says these updates deal with all things transportation including, walking, biking, and driving.
