Town of Wrightsville Beach names fire chief and police chief

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Wrightsville Beach officially named its police and fire chiefs on Monday.

The town says interim police chief Jason Bishop will continue serving the town as its police chief, and acting fire chief Matt Holland will maintain his role overseeing the fire department as the fire chief.

Bishop has been with the police department for more than 26 years, assuming the position of interim police chief in July.

Holland began his career with the fire department in 2006 as a fire equipment operator and was promoted to captain in 2012. He’s served as acting fire chief since last January.
