‘Toys for Tots’ Campaign wraps up at WWAY

LELAND, NC (WWAY) – WWAY participated in the United States Marine Corps Reserve’s “Toys for Tots” donation drive.

Our drop-off location at the station closed on Tuesday and local community members – including the Leland Police and Fire Departments – helped load up the truck with donated, unwrapped toys.

There were bicycles, baby dolls, and stuffed animals – all ready to be placed under the tree for families in need.

Sergeant Brandon Fraizer with the U.S. Marine Corps shared why it’s important to give back:

“A lot of the times, the community surrounding the base serves us, and we serve the community, so it’s a good way to not only impact the Marines on base but also the families involved in the community. I know this time of year can be hard for some families, especially those less fortunate. But I really hope it brings joy to those families.”

Although our drop-off location closed today, “Toys for Tots” will continue accepting toy donations through December 22nd.
