Toys for Tots do toy pickup from Brunswick County elves, St. James Woodworkers

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The St. James Woodworkers have been handmaking toys to donate to Toys for Tots.

The time of the year has arrived when their hard work becomes someone else’s Christmas wish.

We gave you a look last week at the year-long work these St. James elves put into their toy making.

Tuesday, those toys were loaded up in preparation of the big day—Christmas.

Gary Mlynek is a St. James Woodworker.

He said it brings him and his team joy to make these toys. But there’s nothing quite like getting closer to putting them in the hands of children in need.

“It’s something fun to keep the Christmas spirit going all year long,” Mlynek said.

Toys for Tots North Carolina Youth Ambassador Madison Gough said the organization is still in need of girl’s toys.

There are donation boxes around the Cape Fear including right here at WWAY.
