Tractor-trailer collides with ambulance in Duplin County

DUPLIN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A tractor-trailer collided with an ambulance Wednesday morning in Duplin County.

The crash took place around 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of North NC 111 Highway and Sheep Pasture Road near Albertson.

The ambulance was loaded with a patient and was in transit to the hospital without the use of lights or sirens, according to the Duplin County EMS.

All patients involved were evaluated and transported to receiving hospitals either by ground ambulance or medical helicopter for non-life-threatening injuries.

The EMS driver was charged with failure to yield right of way.
