Traffic Alert: CFPUA issues advisory for Carolina Beach Rd. and Shipyard Blvd.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority issued a traffic advisory for the intersection of Carolina Beach Road and Shipyard Boulevard just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a release, crews are making an emergency repair to a 12″ water main. However, repairs are taking longer than expected.

CFPUA crews have shifted lanes on Carolina Beach Rd. and Shipyard Blvd. into single lanes. Officials urge drivers to avoid the area or plan for delays.

The travel advisory is expected to last around six hours.

Water should be restored to affected customers by noon.
