Trillium Health Resources hosting Post Disaster Simulation

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — Trillium Health Resources is hosting a Post Disaster Simulation to share about the importance of being prepared and to walk through steps to take the weeks following a disaster.

It takes place on Wednesday, July 30, 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Burgaw Middle School in the school gym.

Participants will experience what it’s like navigating life after a disaster and the many barriers faced. It will also highlight the added struggles for individuals living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and traumatic brain injuries.

Through assigned profiles, participants are tasked with navigating the weeks following a disaster. This includes things like obtaining needed supplies, filing insurance claims, seeking medical attention, and obtaining needed medications and services. 

Event is free and a light breakfast will be provided.
