Trump accepts key endorsement from police union in Charlotte while celebrating sentencing delay on felony charges

CHARLOTTE, NC (WSOC) — Former President Donald Trump was in Charlotte Friday to speak about law and order at a Fraternal Order of Police conference. He spoke at the Hilton in University City.
Trump’s speech came hours after his sentencing was delayed in his hush money conviction. He kicked it off by celebrating the postponement and also praised the North Carolina Court of Appeals decision to remove Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from the ballot.
Trump’s speech focused on supporting law enforcement, cracking down on illegal immigration, and crime.
Of course, there were plenty of attacks on his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump pointed to her record as a district attorney and attorney general and past statements she and other Democrats have made about the border wall.
Trump called for the death penalty for drug dealers, child sex traffickers and people who kill police officers.
