WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A new TV show set to be filmed in Wilmington is highlighting the bravery of pilots in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

Air Angels Fight Helene will be filmed here in Wilmington, with Emmy-award-winning journalist Gilbert Baez hosting the show.

The television series will highlight plane and helicopter pilots who brought life-saving supplies and transport to people in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

The show will feature a dinner and interview honoring the pilots along with celebrity guests.

Monty Hobbs with Just Do Good Entertainment—the production company behind the show—said they chose to film in Wilmington to not disturb on-going rebuilding efforts in the western part of the state.

“When a storm of this magnitude happened, and there was a call to action, these heros jumped into planes, jumped into helicopters, and flew into action, we wanted that story to be told from their perspective,” Hobbs said.

The show is expected to stream this fall on Up Faith and Family, Amazon Prime, and Tubi.
