Two arrested in drug bust after months long investigation

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office conducted a several-month-long drug investigation that led to two arrests.

According to NHSO, detectives seized over 300 pressed fentanyl pills with an estimated street value of $4500. Detectives also seized approximately 7 grams of cocaine, 270 grams of marijuana, and two firearms.  

Pedro Pablo Duran-Quintero was charged with the following offenses:

  • 5 counts of trafficking fentanyl
  • 2 counts of PWIMSD, a schedule I controlled substance
  • 2 counts of manufacturing a schedule I controlled substance
  • 2 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia
  • 2 counts of maintain/sell/deliver/possess a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a park
  • 2 counts of maintain/sell/deliver/possess a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school
  • Maintain a vehicle for a controlled substance 

Quintero is being held at the New Hanover County Detention Center under a $1.3 million dollar bond. 

Alexander Daniel Hamann-Larner was charged with the following offenses: 

  •  PWIMSD cocaine
  • Sell cocaine
  • Deliver cocaine
  • Manufacture Cocaine
  • 2 counts of PWIMSD marijuana
  • Sell Marijuana 
  • Deliver Marijuana
  • 2 counts of felony possession of marijuana
  • 2 counts of manufacturing marijuana
  • 3 counts of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance
  • Maintain/sell/deliver/possess a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school
  • Possession of a schedule I controlled substance
  • 3 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia 

Hamann- Larner initially received a $500,000.00 secured bond but has since posted bond.
