Two arrested on Brunswick County on drug trafficking charges

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on drug charges Wednesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies conducted a traffic stop that ended a months-long investigation into a methamphetamine trafficking operation.

During the stop, agents recovered approximately 170 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle. Brian Berry, 46, was driving and Tori Wayland, 30, was in the passenger seat.

A subsequent search of a residence led to the discovery of additional narcotics and a handgun.

In total, agents seized:
Over 182 grams of methamphetamine
48 grams of marijuana
15 grams of cocaine
1 handgun

Tori Wayland was charged with Conspire to traffic methamphetamine, Trafficking in methamphetamine, PWIMSD Schedule II CS, Felony possession of cocaine, and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brian Berry was charged with Conspire to traffic methamphetamine, Trafficking in methamphetamine (x2), Maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for CS, PWIMSD Schedule II CS, PWIMSD cocaine, PWIMSD marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by felon.
