Two arrested on meth trafficking charges in New Hanover County

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Two men are facing felony drug charges following a methamphetamine trafficking investigation in New Hanover County.

According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Christopher Ryan Dew and Michael Dain Bonner.

Investigators say they began investigating Dew after receiving information that he was trafficking methamphetamine in New Hanover County. Deputies later conducted a traffic stop, during which Dew and Bonner were found transporting approximately 160 grams of methamphetamine into the county.

Both men were charged with trafficking methamphetamine, conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, and additional narcotics-related offenses.

The Sheriff’s Office said Dew had previously been charged with trafficking methamphetamine in June.

Both are being held under a $1.3 million bond.
