Two arrests made following armed robbery in Columbus County

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division made two arrests following an armed robbery.

On Tuesday, deputies responded to a residence located on Rouse Lane after a reported armed robbery.

When deputies arrived, the alleged victim stated a male suspect arrived at the back door with a firearm and demanded money. The alleged victim also claimed a female suspect had taken his wallet which contained $3,000 in cash, his ID, and debit cards.

The alleged suspects, 37-year-old Robert Lacewell and 37-year-old Cierra Young, fled the scene in a white vehicle.

After an immediate search, deputies recovered the victim’s wallet in the backyard of the residence with $700 in cash left in it. The rest of the cash and the cards and ID were missing.

Both Lacewell and Young were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Young was also served with outstanding warrants for absconding from the North Carolina Department of Probation and Parole.
