Two charged after hitting several vehicles in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two people have been charged after hitting multiple vehicles in downtown Wilmington.

According to a Wilmington Police Department spokesperson, police observed a vehicle crashing into a moped Saturday around 10:45 p.m. in the area in of 23 Market Street.

Police attempted to approach the vehicle, but it took off. The car was later seen driving down South 3rd Street at a fast rate of speed.

The driver, Adali Lopez-Nava, 20, and her passenger, Ely Juarez-Delgado, 20, crashed into two cars before trying to run away. At least two occupants of one of the vehicles that were hit were taken to the hospital by EMS.

Lopez-Nava and Juarez-Delgado were eventually stopped by the police, arrested and transported back to Wilmington PD.

Both are facing several charges, including misdemeanor Hit and Run, felony Hit and Run, felony Flee to Elude Arrest, DWI, and Drive After Consuming Under 21.

Both received unsecured bonds.
