Two Columbus County women arrested on child endangerment charges

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people on child endangerment charges.
Lynn Richardson, and Katelynn Richardson, identified as primary caregivers, have been arrested.
The investigation began after a referral regarding unsafe living conditions and suspected abuse.
During the investigation, a minor child was removed. This came after the Department of Social Services determined there were unsafe living conditions.
Subsequent testing revealed the presence of methamphetamine in the child’s system.
Based on those results and further investigation, the two women were charged with:
- Expose Child to Controlled Substance
- Expose Child to Controlled Substance – Ingestion
The two individuals are being held under a $35,000 secured bond
The investigation remain active at this time.
