Two killed in Friday morning Hallsboro house fire
HALLSBORO, NC (WWAY) — A deadly house fire took place Friday morning in Columbus County.
Fire crews say the blaze broke out on Pierce Cemetery Road around 6:30 a.m., with a 72-year-old grandfather and his 22-year-old granddaughter believed to be the two people killed.
A third person, believed to be the mother of the youngest girl, was able to make it out.
She went to a neighbor’s home to ask for help.
Several agencies responded and managed to get the fire under control in an hour.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
