Two men shoot, kill each other on Charlotte street
CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — Authorities say two men arguing on a Charlotte street shot and killed each other.
Local media outlets report the shooting happened around 2 p.m. Thursday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police identified one of the victims as 21-year-old Daquan Alston. He died at the scene.
Twenty-three-year-old Demetrius Goode died at Carolinas Medical Center.
Police say the men knew each other.
Lt. Jeff Harless says an escalating argument ended with the men shooting each other.
Police say there has been a 25 percent increase in homicides this year compared with 2014. Last year did have an unusually low number of deaths.
