Two people arrested after allegedly following and shooting at people in Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — The Elizabethtown Police Department is investigating a shooting after multiple reports of shots being fired from a car.
According to the three individual reports, a white Acura followed them from a gas station near Walmart to McDonald’s before firing shots near the intersections of Quail Street and Peanut Road.
The police department says allegedly the car was driven by NyJae Davis, 24, and Alaysha King, 20, was a passenger.
Approximately ten shots were reported. The victims called the police, and they confirmed two apparent bullet impacts to their vehicle and recovered one ammunition slug.
Chief McMichael, “This type of reckless violence will not be tolerated in our community. I’m proud of our officers for their swift work in identifying and apprehending those responsible. We remain committed to protecting our residents and ensuring those who endanger others are held accountable.”
No injuries were reported.
