Two people injured in weekend shooting in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A shooting in the Hillcrest community left two people injured Sunday morning.

Wilmington Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1400 block of Meares Street around 10:40 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found two people with non life threatening injuries. EMS took them to Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

This shooting is currently under investigation.
