Two separate crashes reported in Carolina Beach Tuesday afternoon

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Emergency crews responded to two separate crashes in Carolina Beach Tuesday afternoon, less than 20 minutes apart.

The first happened around 3:32 p.m. and involved two vehicles, one of which rolled over. The Carolina Beach Police Department say there were minor injuries, and one person was taken to the hospital. That driver was cited for running a red light and failure to yield.

Around 3:51 p.m., crews responded to a second wreck involving a U.S. Mail truck and a motorcycle at North Carolina Avenue and South Lake Park Boulevard. Officials report only minor damage in that crash and say there were no injuries.

Police say the second incident remains under investigation.
