U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds coming to Carolina Beach in 2027
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds announced on Tuesday the dates of their 2027 air show in Carolina Beach.
The Thunderbirds will perform on September 11th and September 12th.
In the show, the U.S. Air Force Demonstration Squadron performs aerial maneuvers in a mix of solo and formation routines.
More information regarding the 2027 air show will be provided in the spring of 2026.
The Wings Over Carolina Beach Air Show has been rescheduled for April 24th-26th, 2026.
“This smaller scale air show will provide a great opportunity for our community to enjoy aerial performances and for area businesses to see the benefit and prepare for the larger air show the following year,” stated Jeff Bourk, ILM Airport Director. “We look forward to coordinating these air shows and seeing the enjoyment they bring, as well as the positive impact on local businesses from the influx of locals, visitors, and performers.
