UNCW has a new gateway entrance for soccer; Seahawks edge Bulldogs in exhibition


WILMINGTON, NC (UNCW) —  Freshman defender Mark Lindstrom scored the game’s only goal in the 54th minute as UNCW earned a 1-0 victory over Gardner-Webb in the Seahawks’ exhibition opener at UNCW Soccer Stadium on Monday evening.

After a scoreless first half, Lindstrom gave the Seahawks a one-goal advantage when he headed in a free kick from sophomore midfielder Joel Bylander.

The Seahawks will complete their exhibition schedule on Saturday, Aug. 20, with a 7 p.m. contest at Wake Forest.
