UNCW holds commencements for fall and summer classes of 2023

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The weekend of December 15th-16th was one of celebration as UNC held its summer and fall commencement ceremonies.

More than 2,500 students graduated as part of the class of 2023.

This was the first commencement since the College of Arts and Sciences split into two new colleges earlier this year.

Anthony Rizol was one of more than 750 people who got their master’s degree.

He said even though he got his degree online, he still felt like he was part of a community that cared about helping him reach his goal.

“You know, its a great school, it’s a great community,” Rizal said. “They really do a good job, even whether you’re online or in person, making you feel welcome and have that sense of community, so really important and they do a really good job here.”

And a big congratulations to WWAY’s Emily Andrews, who graduated this weekend.
