UNCW searching for new women’s head basketball coach

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW women’s basketball head coach Adell Harris  has resigned.

According to UNCW Athletics, Harris is leaving to pursue other interests, Director of Athletics Jimmy Bass announced on Tuesday.

Harris came to UNCW in the summer of 2012 following a three-year stint at Tusculum College.

Her record was 42-112 in five seasons with the Seahawks, according to UNCW.

The Seahawks went 11-20 overall and 5-13 in the Colonial Athletic Association in 2016-17.

UNCW says a national search will begin immediately for her replacement.
