UNCW takes down Elon 65-54

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — The UNCW men’s basketball game picked up a home win for the first time in 26 days after knocking off Elon 65-54 on Thursday.
The Seahawks had little issue throughout the contest and held a comfortable lead for most of it.
After dropping their last home game, Wilmington rebounded on the road with a victory over rival Charleston on Monday. That followed with the victory over the Phoenix.
Following every loss of their 21-4 campaign, Takayo Siddle and company have always managed to bounce back for multiple games afterwards.
“It’s a cultural thing. We get hit and get knocked back. When you are trying to aspire to be a champion, you have to use adversity to grow. We never let them hang their heads. We never let it deflate us. We try to have great energy in the next thing that we’re doing. We have to make sure our spirits stay up. That’s exactly what we did.”
UNCW returns home Saturday with a home game against Hofstra starting at 4 p.m.
