UNCW’s Sartarelli to push enrollment, new programs in 2016-17
WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — There is no room for a slump in Jose Sartarelli’s sophomore-year schedule.
Since starting as chancellor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington last summer, Sartarelli has guided the school through a momentous 13 months: a record-breaking $14.9 million in fundraising, increased enrollment and an underdog appearance by the men’s basketball team in the NCAA Tournament. As Sartarelli implements his five-year strategic plan this fall, the coming year will see the first steps toward ambitious benchmarks across campus.
“We’ll know what’s going to happen, how this place is going to look five to 10 years from now,” he said. “I have to have a plan. I have to have a road, because otherwise I’m not going to be satisfied.”
