Update: Boil water advisory lifted for section of Greenville Loop Road
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has lifted its precautionary boil water advisory for a section of Greenville Loop Road.
A 10-inch main failed early Wednesday afternoon. CFPUA crews are on the scene repairing the break, which is deeper in the ground than normal and might require more than the typical four to six hours to fix.
The addresses affected were: 5500 – 5700 blocks of Greenville Loop Road, all of Cedar Landing Road, Meadow Brook Court, Royal Palm Lane, Hollyholm Trace, Hunters Mill Road, Sandfiddler Pointe Road and Woodland Terrace.
After service is restored, the affected addresses will be under a precautionary boil water advisory (PBWA). CFPUA customers should boil their water for one minute then allow it to cool prior to consumption or utilize another water source such as bottled water. Consumption includes drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, food preparation, fruit and vegetable washing and the preparation of baby formula. Customers do NOT need to boil water prior to using it for showering or bathing.
The Boil Water Advisory was lifted late Thursday afternoon.
