Update: OSHA investigating power line electrocution

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New details on the electrocution of two men while on the job in Wilmington.

A spokeswoman with the state Occupational Safety and Health Division said they’ve opened an investigation into Monday’s incident.

Two Onslow County men died, and a third was hospitalized, after construction equipment came in contact with a power line.

The men worked for East Coast Contracting. OSHA records show that company has had no penalties since 2009 when it was fined more than $3,600 after an employee filed a complaint.
