UPDATE: Rep. Jones reacts to Wilmington VA Clinic water issues

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Congressman Walter Jones, representing the 3rd District that includes Wilmington, says he was unaware of water problem at Wilmington VA Clinic but says he will look into it immediately.

Congressman Walter Jones was in town with Kentucky Representative Thomas Massey on Wednesday taking part in several events.  While Representative Jones was in the Port City, we asked him about the water issues at the Wilmington VA Clinic.

“The problem is,” Jones said, “if it’s a quality of water issue, it ought to be addressed very quickly. There should not be any lapse in time. I’ll get right on it when I get back in the car.”

The Wilmington VA Clinic continues to be under a ‘Do Not Use Water’ notice.
The notice has been in effect since late March by the CFPUA after high levels of metal, like copper, were found in the water.
