UPDATE: Support the Girls surpasses goal, secures permanent locations
SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — Less than two months after a couple of women started the first Support the Girls Chapter in North Carolina, they surpassed their first goal and secured two permanent drop off locations.
Liz Marmaras started the chapter in Southport in September. She said they now have permanent locations at Baked With Love Café in Southport, Butler Electric Supply in Wilmington, Salon 4128 at South Harbor in Southport, Brooke Bajak Salon in Southport and Totally Chic Salon in Calabash.
Marmaras said they have also surpassed their initial 1,000 goal. She said it took one and a half months to collect 1000 bras. She said there have been numerous women all over the state interested in becoming affiliates for their local counties.
