VA Healthcare leaders roundtable with local veterans to offer services
"It's really about connecting with our veterans in our local communities."
BRUNSWICK COUNTY (WWAY)– Brunswick County veterans were invited to a town hall to learn more about VA healthcare on Thursday evening.
Fayetteville VA Health Care System executive leaders, local Brunswick VA clinic staff, and senior program staff were on hand to provide updates on health services and answer veteran’s questions.
Marri Fryar is the executive director for the Fayetteville VA Coastal Health Care System. She says there are not a lot of services offered in the area and wants our local veterans to know they are there for them to provide any help or care they need.
“It’s really about connecting with our veterans in our local communities. With Brunswick being that hometown community, we wanted to come out here today and let them know we are here to care for them, how we’re going to care for them, and the various modalities that we’ve leveraged across our healthcare system to take care of their healthcare needs,” Fryar said.
Fryar says they value veterans’ voices and have noticed how they are starting to trust the VA Healthcare System more.
