Verizon to give free data to customers

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Verizon is saying “thanks” to its customers by giving them free data during the holidays through their “Thanksgetting” promotion.

From now until Nov. 25, customers can sign up to receive an additional 1 GB of free data for this month, then the company will throw in another 1 GB for the next billing period.

For those who are not customers, Verizon is offering complimentary music, e-books, movies and airport wifi for your holiday travels. Spokeswoman Kate Jay says the company just wants to help make the holidays a little less stressful.

“That day before Thanksgiving is known for being a hectic travel day, one of the busiest ones of the year, so we really want to help everyone get through that crazy day in good spirits,” said Jay.

There are some restrictions though, according to the Verizon Website. The website says the 1GB Data offer can only be redeemed one time per account by customers on a qualifying plan.
