Veteran, father of 6 in need receives car donation

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Two businesses are celebrating the season of giving by helping a veteran and father of six in need.

Caliber Collision and Geico presented Craig Verbois with a refurbished car as part of the National Auto Body Council’s “Recycled Rides Program”.

Verbois was a US Marine from 2005-2010.

Verbois and his wife didn’t have a vehicle, and had to borrow a car from relatives to get to and from work while also caring for six children, ranging in age from newborn to age 17.

NC Works recognized the family’s challenges and nominated them for the program.

“This is going to change pretty much everything as far as our tempo, what we can do as a family, events, family get togethers, travel, and of course to work to help support my family and do what I love to do. It changes everything,” said Verbois.

This vehicle will bring much-needed transportation relief to the family.
