Victim identified in Caswell Beach drowning

CASWELL BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Police have identified the man who drowned in Caswell Beach Saturday.

Cpt. Sam Massey with the Caswell Beach Police Department said Telley Knight, 39, from Clayton died Saturday.

According to the Caswell Beach Police Department, the man was unaccounted for for about 15 minutes. He was eventually found unconscious near the 600 block of Caswell Beach Road.

Bystanders performed CPR before EMS arrived and transported him to Dosher Memorial Hospital.

The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
