Victim identified in deadly dirt bike, 4-wheeler race; WPD looking for other driver

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The man who died after crashing his dirt bike on Castle Street Saturday night has been identified.

Wilmington Police say a dirt bike and 4-wheeler were racing on Castle Street when the dirt bike operator hit a vehicle trying to make a turn. He has been identified as Damiel Devane, 34. Police say he suffered severe head injuries due to the crash that happened at the intersection of Castle and S. 10th streets.
