Vigil honors Shannon Rippy one year after disappearance

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One year after she disappeared, the search for Shannon Rippy continues. Wednesday her friends and family gathered to remember her and ensure her memory lives on.

Dozens of folks showed up to The Husk in Downtown Wilmington, the last place she was seen, to remember Rippy. She was a much beloved member of the film community in town.

Though James Bradley has been charged with her murder, Rippy’s body has never been found. Her family and friends, though, continue to search.

Wednesday’s event was designed to keep the memory of Rippy alive, and to let people know the search will continue until she is found.

Her mom says she has something to say to the man charged with her murder.

“Please, could you please tell me where my daughter is?” Bobbi Lewis said. “Please let me bring her home. I wouldn’t know what else to say.”

Wilmington Police arrested Bradley after they thought they had found Rippy’s body in Pender County. It turned out to be the body of Elisha Tucker.

The DA said in court that Bradley, a convicted murderer, admitted to being with Rippy the day she disappeared. Bradley maintains he did not kill her.
