WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Saturday is a big day for record collectors.

Fans are already lining up for the annual Record Store Day.

The event began in 2008 to celebrate independent record stores across the country.

Special limited-edition vinyl is released every year.

There are several stores in the Cape Fear you can support, including the Fuzzy Needle, School Kids Records and Record Bar, to name a few.

You can check with individual stores about a specific release and store hours.
