Volunteers plant 12 trees across Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For the 5th year in a row, one Wilmington organization is making moves to better the community’s environment, one tree at a time.
Tuesday afternoon the Wilmington Tree Commission along with Alliance for Cape Fear Trees planted twelve trees across the city.
The group started at Greenfield Lake, planting six trees there including a Live Oak.
The other six were divided up. Three went to Wade Park and the other three to the city’s operation center.
The trees planted included Red Cedars, Holly, Magnolia, River Birch and one Live Oak tree.
If you’d like to give a tree to someone for Christmas you can. Just head to the Wilmington Tree Commission’s website.
