Wake County deputy shot twice with ‘assault rifle’ while serving eviction notice now out of surgery, sheriff’s office says
RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) – A Wake County sheriff’s deputy was shot twice while serving an eviction notice Wednesday morning at an apartment complex in Raleigh, according to the sheriff’s office.
Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker said Deputy Ronald Waller was executing the eviction notice around 10:30 a.m. at the River Birch Apartments.
Waller is a veteran of more than 20 years with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.
